      Puppies in our home 

The first couple of weeks the puppies are with their mother in a special puppy bed in our bedroom. Everyday, the puppies are weighed and checked. When they are 3 weeks old we keep them in the kitchen where they can play in a pen, but they continue to sleep in the puppy bed in our bedroom at nigh time. At that time, we also start to feed them with dog food and take them out to the bathroom. When they are 4 weeks old the puppies stay in the pen and also sleep there at night. We also have a spot in the garden where they can play and stay outside if it’s good weather. Now it’s also time to start grooming the puppies every day and we cut their nails every week.  At the age of 6 weeks I let the puppies go with me when I’m out driving the car, because it is important that they get used to ride the car without getting sick. 

Normally, a puppy will be sold at the age of 8 weeks. At that time, he is not fully house trained and may not alert when he needs to go to the bathroom, but most of our puppies have nevertheless been doing great!!! It takes a while until he is fully trained.
